But, when he first decided to try cycling during his days as a student at Drake High, his mom joked that he was &#8220;one of those kids who showed up in baggy shorts, on an old bike.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">&#8220;We just had no idea,&#8221; said Brenda Newcomb.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Now, the Newcombs, who live in Nicasio, know quite a bit about cycling.
