While she did allow herself three months of convalescence, most of that time was spent fantasizing about a replacement bike for the one that had been totaled.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I couldn&#8217;t stand not having a bike in the garage,&#8221; says Waitzman, who bought another one and was on it before she was off the crutches altogether. &#8220;I have to ride.
