From scattered die-hard individuals to grassroots amateur gatherings and finally fledgling professional organizations, the sport has evolved into a full-blown pro national championship. Starting in 2009, the rebadged Women\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Motocross (WMX) Championship reached new heights in popularity, legitimacy and acceptance.
