Surf was in the 3-6 foot face range with epic high tide half point (surf break) rights and lefts. Gulilherme Tamega, 37 from Brazil, took top honors in the highly contested Pro Men&#8217;s division.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">&#8220;It&#8217;s really good to be at Sandy Beach,&#8221; exclaimed Tamega. &#8220;It was a hard final, I knew I had to get the best waves and I could hear the crowd cheer for the Hawaiians, so I had to get through that.&#8221; It was a close match. Current World Champion, Kauai&#8217;s Jeff Hubbard, snagged waves right at the horn and had the crowd screaming at the get go.
