And the ironic thing is, unlike its successors to the title of fastest road production car in the world &#8211; the Bugatti Veyron and the SSC Ultimate Aero TT, among others &#8211; the McLaren F1 was never built entirely for that reason.<\/p>\n<p><span>Footage is from a test day in 1998, during which XP5 set the world recoerd for highest speed in a production car.\u00c2\u00a0 <span class=\"content\">The amazing thing is that this car can go 240 miles per hour with a naturally aspirated V12 and only 627 horse power.
