There the Honolulu club\u2019s commodore officially stamped his time of 8:30 a.m. \u2014 a formality to officially enshrine his feat in any record books, having just crossed the eastern North Pacific Ocean alone and unsupported from his June 9 launch in San Francisco. Sure it was great moment to paddle past Diamond Head as the sun rose, and then cruise with a small pod of paddlers outside the Waikiki surf.
