{"id":12047,"date":"2009-05-11T20:39:20","date_gmt":"2009-05-12T03:39:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.stokednews.com\/?p=12047"},"modified":"2009-05-11T20:39:20","modified_gmt":"2009-05-12T03:39:20","slug":"sailing-americas-cup-golden-gate-responds-to-americas-cup-contempt-of-court-charge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.stokednews.com\/?p=12047","title":{"rendered":"Sailing America&#8217;s Cup &#8211; Golden Gate responds to America&#8217;s Cup Contempt of Court charge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The Golden Gate Yacht Club (GGYC) today filed a memorandum of law in the Supreme Court of the State of New York supporting the court-ordered dates of February 2010 for the next America\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Cup match and opposing a frivolous motion made by the defender Soci\u00c3\u00a9t\u00c3\u00a9 Nautique de Gen\u00c3\u00a8ve (SNG) to disqualify GGYC.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">In early April the New York State Court of Appeals, in a unanimous 6-0 ruling, held that GGYC is the rightful challenger and that the next match would be in ten months, meaning early February 2010.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">However, in an April 23 letter to GGYC, SNG unilaterally dictated that the match shall be in May 2010 in defiance of the Court\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s April 7, 2009 Order and Judgment.
