{"id":114709,"date":"2016-01-28T07:48:37","date_gmt":"2016-01-28T14:48:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.stokednews.com\/?p=114709"},"modified":"2016-01-28T07:48:37","modified_gmt":"2016-01-28T14:48:37","slug":"kiteboard-video-the-arctic-challenge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.stokednews.com\/?p=114709","title":{"rendered":"Kiteboard Video &#8211; The Arctic Challenge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This three week expedition took, Geza Scholtz the expedition leader, His brother Andre Scholtz a former backgammon world champion, camera men David a veteran sea Shepard, Bastian a northern lights expert, and photographer Richard Findall to the worlds biggest ice slider park.<\/p>\n<p>The gang met up and traveled to Greenland, Ilulissat Icefjord, just 200Km north of the Arctic Circle. \u00a0The glacier is the most productive\u00a0in the Northern Hemisphere, flowing at a rate of 20\u201335\u00a0m (66\u2013115\u00a0ft) per day, resulting in around 20 billion tonnes of icebergs\u00a0calved off and passing out of the fjord every year.<\/p>\n<p>With water temperatures averaging -0.7 Celsius and very few windy days the crew found it quite challenging to kitesurf with one of natures most revered spectacles.
