Motorcycle madness will take over Infineon Raceway during a three-day stretch as race fans are invited to the 4th annual Two-Wheel Thunder, April 20-22.
The three-day stretch will be highlighted, April 20-21, by an official AMA Pro Road Racing test session, one of just three in the country planned for the 2009 season. The top teams in American Superbike and Daytona SportBike will converge on the Sonoma Valley in advance of the Kawasaki AMA Superbike Showdown, presented by Supercuts, May 15-17.
Some of the teams scheduled to attend the session include Monster Energy Attack Kawasaki, Rockstar Makita Suzuki, Corona Extra Honda and Foremost Insurance Ducati.

The owner of a stolen parrot is setting up a reward fund to hasten the return of his beloved bird.
Fred Mireles said he has already received pledges of more than $100 to help find Gordo – a 30-year-old green parrot stolen from his cage on Mireles’ front porch about a week ago. (Details and picture)
Gordo is better known throughout Baldwin Park as the skateboarding parrot from Guatemala. He was often seen rolling down residential streets with Mireles on a mini, makeshift skateboard.

THE father of a boy with a heart condition is travelling the length of Ireland – on a skateboard.
Alan Smyth, of Milton Road, Cambridge, hopes to be the first person to skate the 400 miles from Mizen Head in the south to Malin Head in the north, to raise money for the British Heart Foundation and Irish Heart Foundation.
Mr Smyth’s son Mylo was diagnosed with a bicuspid aortic valve before he was born but remarkably his diagnosis improved greatly after birth.

Many of those who attended the Tigard Police Department’s Skateboard Challenge on Sunday declared the event a success.
“I thought it was a 10,†said Sergeant Mike Eskew, the officer who organized the event. “It was positive, and the kids were having fun.â€
