Drag racing in the UK hasn’t attracted the huge following it has in the US, but meetings such as The Main Event at Santa Pod Raceway, Britain’s premier dragstrip, are gaining the sport more followers here each year.
Scheduled for the Bank Holiday weekend of May 22 to 25, The Main Event is the first round of the European Drag Racing Championship and is claimed to feature the largest race entry anywhere in Europe. Nor Cal MasterCraft, Northern California’s exclusive MasterCraft boat dealership, is hosting its Grand Opening in Superstar style. Legendary pro wakeboarders Parks Bonifay, Shane Bonifay, golden-girl Emily Copeland, Reed Hansen, Jacob Valdez and the Hoffman sisters will be coming in from around the country to attend this Nor Cal celebration.
